Meet the Artist - Mari Denlinger

As a Brazilian, I learned to love colors, textures and embrace differences from an early age. After finishing Interior Design school, I moved to the United States and spent almost a decade in high-end design world in New York City; where I found joy working with and hosting exhibitions of some of the world’s leading artists and designers like the Minotti’s, Paola Lenti, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali and many more. Today my Art & Interior Design studio is a mile from midtown Manhattan, just across the river where I apply my experiences in design, art and world travels through the media of alcohol ink. As an artist, I find this expression allows me to open my heart and yours through beauty, depth and the harmony into your home.

β€œThe journey of the ink running across the yupo paper is magical. You can instantly see how unique each piece is and that makes every art even more special.”

Media and Process

Alcohol ink is a term for a fluid painting technique that uses color pigments suspended in alcohol. Originated in America, this rich art medium enables physical exploration of ideas often found in digital media about transparency, interplay of color, depth, shapes and textures. When applied to surface, the alcohol evaporates very quickly; however, even dried ink can be β€œrevived” if pure alcohol or fresh ink is added – leading to intense and vibrant layering that exceeds the capabilities of traditional pigment based paints. All my paintings are sealed and UV coated to preserve the painting.  As with any original art, it is recommended to avoid direct sunlight.

I do a lot of moving the ink around using gravity and air as my tools and my favorite characteristic about this media is the color vibrancy. I just fell in love with the delicate nature of the transparency as it seamlessly blends to areas of intense contrast.  It is beautiful to see the lines waver and then give way when the inks converge, leading to an entirely new state of the painting that did not exist the moment before. This temporal alure of the abstract creation allows one to focusing on the evocation of mood rather than the representation of form. Hence, my art has a freedom of interpretation that allows it the viewer to evolve their view of the art based on both their own vantage point and their own emotional state.

-Can I return an Art?

I try to provide images as close as I can of the real artwork. Sometimes colors and textures may very slightly during sealing. It’s important to note that this technique is fluid, and some beautiful spots are part of the nature of the art. Of course if your Art has arrived damaged, we will fix it at our expense - just contact us within 30 days.

Art Prints are not signed. Original Art are signed in the back (so you can display it in any direction) and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
