After a stormy night during Carnival in Olinda, the sunrise dissipated beyond the black sky and grey clouds. The dawn brought an organic radiating rainbow with a life of its own as a prism. The good luck bands from Senhor do Bonfim twisted and danced above as a stream of interlacing color.
This Original piece is one of a kind artwork using Alcohol Ink on Yupo Paper 74lbs, 30”x40”. Art is varnished and coated with UV protectant to preserved quality and color.
LIQUID DREAM Series
The human experience is infinite. Created in the summer of 2021, the Liquid Dream series was sparked by travels prior to the pandemic, but reimagined as my desire to explore the world persisted, and I could relive these moments through the lenses of lucid dreams. My art taps into this phenomenon that we can initially connect to the world as interpreted by bodies, but also as translated by our minds after the fact. In this regard, we often revoke, and even revise or edit the world in ways that depart from the reality of the original moment... an escape the constraints of our body.
Abstract forms and a free-flowing medium gives voice to these tones, colors, emotions and experiences that persist in our minds. Like my dreams, the work is intended to be vivid and playful with an undertone rooted in the essence of water. The viewer is drawn into the fluid, gradient depth of the medium. A reminder to Dream.
